Women's Golf Holds Steady After Day Two of SAC Championships
MONROE, N.C. – The Mars Hill women’s golf team concluded day two of the South Atlantic Conference Women’s Championship by picking up 22 strokes from its first day total.
MONROE, N.C. – The Mars Hill women's golf team concluded day two of the South Atlantic Conference Women's Championship by picking up 22 strokes from its first day total. After shooting an opening day 352 (+64) as a team, the Lions turned in an impressive day two total of 330 (+42). The team holds steady in 10th place overall.
Sarah Johnson was the big gainer today for the Blue and Gold, demolishing her first-round score of 99 (+27) with a magnificent second-round score of 75 (+3). Johnson shot a one-under par 35 on the back nine to pace the Lions.
Victoria Barrett and Emma Lundvall posted second-round scores of 83 (+11), while Raven Brown finished the day with a +17, 89. Marie Syvertsen rounded out the golfers with a 95 (+23).
Queens University jumped two spots to sit atop the leaderboard after day two, while Newberry's Nabila Inak posted a 71 (-1) to jump from a tie for fourth to first place overall.
The three-day tournament will conclude tomorrow morning as the first group is set to tee off at 8:30 a.m.
