Mars Hill remains 11th after second round of SAC Championships
The Mars Hill women's golf team trimmed five shots off of their first round score, but remain in 11th place after the second round of the South Atlantic Conference Championships Monday afternoon.
COLUMBIA, S.C. - The Mars Hill women's golf team trimmed five shots off of their first round score, but remain in 11th place after the second round of the South Atlantic Conference Championships Monday afternoon.
Janie Gooch improved her overall score by seven strokes, shooting a second round 86 to finish the day in 48th place. Emilee Wenmoth had a three-stroke improvement on the day and finished in 51st place.
Marie Syvertsen and Jasmine Chesnut placed 53rd and 54th at the end of the day, shooting 97 and 100 on the day, respectively. Courtney Jo Simpkins had the largest improvement of the day, shaving off 13 strokes. She sits at 55th at the end of the round.
Mars Hill, collectively, had a five-stroke improvement as a team, but remain in last place.
