Lions set two records at SCAD Fall Invitational
The Mars Hill women's golf team set two school records in their seventh place finish at the SCAD Atlanta Fall Invitational that concluded Wednesday afternoon.
ATLANTA, Ga. - The Mars Hill women's golf team set two school records in their seventh place finish at the SCAD Atlanta Fall Invitational that concluded Wednesday afternoon.
The Lions team, consisting of Janie Gooch, Marie Syvertsen, Emilee Wenmouth, Jasmine Chesnut and Linnea Karlsson, set a new mark in lowest combined team score for a round when they shot a 310 in Wednesday's second round. That score was six strokes better than the previous mark. They also set the record for lowest combined score over two rounds with a score of 635, five shots better than the previous record.
Syvertsen was the top finisher for the Lions, shooting +12 which was good for eighth overall. Gooch placed 20th overall with a total score of +14 over two days.
Chesnut, Karlsson and Wenmouth rounded out the Lions quintet with scores of +23, +26, +28, respectively.
