Women’s Soccer Ties Montreat
MONTREAT, N.C. - The Lions and Montreat College battled to a 0-0 tie after two overtime periods Saturday afternoon in women's college soccer action. MHC is now 1-0-1 on the year while the Cavaliers are 3-1-1 on the season.
MHC outshot the Cavaliers, 25-13 and had five corner kicks as opposed to the home team getting two. Becca Sellars played all 120 minutes in goal for MHC and made seven saves. Cara Woolford led the Lions' offense with five shots, four on goal. Caroline Mellard also played the entire match in the net for Montreat and made 16 saves.
Mars Hill will play at Converse College on September 5. Match time is slated for a 7 p.m. start.
