Women’s Soccer Beats Converse in Overtime
SPARTANBURG, S.C. - Rachel Weber scored off a pass from Salem Woody at the 114:19 mark of double overtime to propel Mars Hill to a 2-1 victory over Converse College in women's soccer action Monday night. The game was delayed twice by lightening.
Lisa Ryan gave Converse a 1-0 advantage at the 42:44 mark when she scored off a cross from Anara Nagle. Lindsey Ingwersen tied the contest at 1-all at the 65:26 mark on a pass from McKay Sharpe.
MHC outshot Converse, 27-10 and had an 8-1 advantage in corner kicks. Chelsea Parker played all 114:19 in goal for the Lions and made eight saves. Jasmine Norris also played the entire match in the net for Converse and made 14 saves.
Mars Hill will play at Bluefield College on September 7. Match time is slated for a 7:30 p.m. start.
