Women's Soccer Outlasts Brevard
BREVARD, N.C. - An early goal by Leah Taylor put the Tornados behind early, but BC battled throughout the game as Jamie Bundy, Lindsay Pritchard and Chelsea Freeman all challenged the Mars Hill keeper, but Chelsea Parker was able to keep the shutout alive as Brevard fell at home on Saturday afternoon, 1-0.
Taylor took the pass from Alyssa Morris and put the ball home at the 5:13 mark for Mars Hill (6-4-1, 2-2 SAC) as the Lions went up early.
The Tornados (2-8, 0-5 SAC) fought back as BC goalkeeper Crissy Moran had a game high six saves and Jamie Bundy added two shots on goal, but Brevard was unable to get on the scoreboard in falling in their first action in the month of October.
MHC out shot the Tornados, 9-6. Brevard edged the Lions in corner kicks, 3-2.Mars Hill was called offsides four times.
Mars Hill will play at Tusculum on October 5. Match time in Greeneville, Tenn., is set for 5 p.m.
