Women’s Soccer Loses to LMU in Overtime
MARS HILL, N.C. - Josefin Hedstrom scored eight minutes into the first overtime period to lift the Railsplitters of Lincoln Memorial University over Mars Hill in South Atlantic Conference women's soccer action Friday night in the Ammons Family Athletic Center and Meares Stadium. The Lions fell to 3-3 overall and 0-1 in the SAC. LMU improved to 3-1 on the season and 1-0 in the league.
LMU outshot Mars Hill, 18-11. The Railsplitters edged the Lions in corner kicks 2-1 and were called offsides once. Tori Stajduhar played all 97:28 in goal for MHC and made seven saves. Kayla Hanson also played the entire match in the net for LMU and made four stops.
Mars Hill will play at Tusculum College on September 19. Game time is set for a 6 p.m. start.
