Women’s Soccer Loses at Anderson
ANDERSON, S.C. - The Lions' women's soccer team lost on the road at Anderson University, 2-0 Saturday afternoon. Mars Hill fell to 4-8 overall and 1-4 in the SAC. The Trojans improved to 5-4 on the year and 3-1-1 in the conference.
After a scoreless first half, Jessica Kleinberg scored on a cross from Anna Turner at the 69:54 mark to net what would later prove to be the match winner. Chelsea Hamrick added an insurance goal in the 78th minute on a through ball from Kleinberg to seal the win.
The Trojans outshot the Lions, 12-5 and edged MHC in corner kicks, 4-0. Chelsea Parker played all 90 minutes in goal for Mars Hill and made two saves. Kaitlyn Neipp also played the entire contest in the net for the Trojans and made three saves.
Mars Hill will host SAC rival Lenoir-Rhyne University on October 10. The match is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m.
