Women’s Soccer Loses at Tennessee Wesleyan
ATHENS, Tenn. - Mars Hill's women's soccer team lost on the road against Tennessee Wesleyan College, 2-1. The Lions fell to 6-11 while the Bulldogs improved to 10-7 on the year.
Abigal Fannin gave the Bulldogs a 1-0 lead in the 59th minute on a cross from Britten Fandrich. The teams carried that score into the locker room at the intermission.
Grace Lancaster tied the contest at the 82:15 mark on a pass from Alyssa Morris. Unfortunately, Deanna Lawson notched the match winner for the Bulldogs five minutes later. The goal was assisted by Fandrich.
TWC outshot the Lions, 16-6. The Bulldogs edged MHC in corner kicks, 8-3. Tori Stajduhar played the entire contest in goal for the Lions and made five saves. Jaimee Moreland also played the entire match for TWC and made two saves.
Mars Hill will play at SAC rival Carson-Newman College on Saturday, October 27. Match time is set for 5 p.m.
