Women's Soccer Falls at Queens

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Mars Hill lost to Queens 4-1 in South Atlantic Conference women's soccer action Saturday evening at the Queens Sports Complex. The Lions fell to 2-10 on the season, 1-6 in the SAC. The Royals improved to 6-5-1 on the season, 4-2-1 in the conference.
Charlotte Ring notched a hat trick for the Royals in the win. She scored her first goal at the 2:07 mark. The goal was unassisted. Kathy Fisher scored 35 seconds later to put Queens up 2-0. Logan Vitale assisted Fisher's goal. The teams carried that score into the locker room at halftime.
Ring scored twice in the second half in the 49th and 70th minute to seal the win for the Royals. Fisher assisted the final goal for Queens.
Rachel Blong put the Lions on the board in the 81st minute when she placed the ball between Queens' keeper and the crossbar to find the back of the net. The goal was unassisted.
Queens outshot the Lions, 26-2. Queens had 13 corner kicks opposed to the Lions having one. Tori Stajduhar played all 60 minutes in goal for MHU and made nine saves. Tori Danchak also played the entire match in the net for the Royals.
Mars Hill host Erskine in a non-conference match on Wednesday, October 14. The contest is set to begin at 5 p.m.
