Pyle nets Lions' goal in match versus Newberry

NEWBERRY, S.C. - The Mars Hill women's soccer team (1-11-1, 1-6 SAC) was downed by Newberry (5-4-3, 3-4-1 SAC) by a score of 2-1 Saturday night on the road.
The Wolves scored two unanswered goals to come away with the victory. The game-winning tally came in the 70th minute when Emma Harms gave the Wolves their first lead of the night by netting her third of the season. Jacqueline Aldrete picked up her second assist on the night.
Mars Hill's Samantha Pyle opened the scoring with 19:45 played in the contest for her first of the season, chipping the ball over Delaney Hood's head from 17 yards out.
Exactly two minutes later, Daphne Heyaime scored her seventh of the season, taking a one-touch pass from Aldrete and putting it behind the Mars Hill goalkeeper to tie the game at one.
Mars Hill held the 6-4 shot advantage after the first, however, Newberry outshot the Lions 17-5 in the final 45 minutes of play. Victoria Forren made four saves in the second half.
The Lions take to the road on Saturday, October 26 when they take on Queens. Kickoff is scheduled for 12 p.m.
