Lion Swimmers Excel at Last Chance Meet
ATHENS, Ga.-- Mars Hill swimmers excelled Saturday in the Last Chance Meet which matched Lions swimmers against Division I competition. The meet saw Lion swimmers compete against representatives from the ACC and SEC.
Hudson Tucker turned in the top performance by a Lion swimmer today with a second place finish in the 100 Back. Tucker's time of 48.91 places him fourth in the nation and was good enough to make the A-cut for the National Championship meet. Tucker's performance in the 100 Back is also a school record and bests his previous record set earlier in the day.
Nicole Day was the second Lions swimmer to make the national cut. Day made the B-cut in the 200 Free, with a time of 1:54.63. Day also turned in a ninth place performance in the 100 Back with a time of 59.61.
Trey McGraw also turned in a notable performance in representing the Lions men's swimmers. McGraw finished seventh in the 200 IM with a time of 1:58.14.
The Last Chance Meet continues tomorrow, with competition beginning at 10 a.m.
