Lions Place Eighth at Fall Frenzy
WINGATE, N.C.-The Mars Hill women's swimming team placed eighth at the Fall Frenzy Invite, held at the Mecklenburg County Aquatic Center this past weekend.
The Lions set six new school-records and earned 60 points in the meet. The Fall Frenzy Invitational followed a three-day trial, final format. Nine women's swim teams participated in the meet, including three Division I schools. Gardner-Webb placed first overall with 821 points.

Nicole Day turned in Mars Hill's top finish, placing 10th in the 200 Free. Her 1:55.31 time was good enough for second place in the B Final of the event. That time also made a National B Cut. Day set school-records in the 100 Free (53.40) and 50 Back (27.95).
Elle Grier continued her strong performances in Free events with a school-record 18:26.21 in the 1650 Free and a 20th-place finish in the 500 Free. Grier's 500 Free Time of 5:23.29 was a school-record. She added a 21st-place finish in the 400 IM.
The 800 Free Relay Team, consisting of Day, Grier, Taylor Bugg and Miranda Schmidt placed 12th with a time of 8:12.50. The 200 Free Relay team, made up of Day, Bugg, Schmidt and Rachel Louviaux placed 14th.
Megan Bartlett broke a pair of school-records with her performances in the 100 and 200 Breast Stroke. She turned in a 1:11.62 in the 100, while her 200 time was 2:32.91.
Mars Hill will swim in the Union (Ky.) Invitational, which begins Nov. 30 in Barbourville, Ky.
