Lions Defeat LaGrange
MARS HILL, N.C.-The Mars Hill women's swimming team defeated LaGrange 173-44 in Appalachian Swim Conference action Friday night at Harrell Pool.
The Lions were paced by Nicole Day, who won three individual events and was part of the victorious 400 Free Relay team. Day took first in the 100 and 200 Free, as well as the 200 IM. Day's split in the 400 Free Relay was 57.99. The team was made up of Day, Rachel Louviaux, Taylor Bugg and Maggie Mills. Mars Hill improved to 8-1 on the season with the victory.
Mills and Louviaux each earned first-place finishes in addition to their success in the 400 Free Relay. Mills won the 50 Free with a time of 26.50, while Louviaux swam a 1:09.19 to win the 100 Butterfly.
Leah Behar continued Mars Hill's success in Butterfly events, taking first with a time of 2:37.02.
Megan Bartlett and Miranda Schmidt each added a pair of wins. Bartlett took first in the 100 and 200 Breast, while Schmidt was victorious in the 100 and 200 Back.
Mars Hill will swim at Milligan tomorrow at 2:00 p.m. in a
tri-meet with Milligan and West Virginia Tech.
