Men Second, Women Eighth at ASC Meet
The Mars Hill men’s and women’s swimming teams participated in the Appalachian Swimming Conference championship meet this weekend. The Mars Hill men finished in second place, while the Mars Hill women finished in eighth place.
CHRISTIANSBURG, Va. – The Mars Hill men's and women's swimming teams wrapped up the 2014 season at the Appalachian Swimming Conference championship meet this weekend. The Mars Hill men finished in second place, while the Mars Hill women finished in eighth place.
The men's 200 Medley Relay team of Hudson Tucker, Salvatore Russo, Mladen Senicar and Drew Rosser finished in first place. Mars Hill completed the relay sweep as Tucker, Senicar, Rosser and Trey Mason won the 400 Freestyle relay Lions earned wins in the 200 Freestyle Relay and 400 Medley Relay on Friday. Rosser, Tucker and Senicar each swam a leg in all four relay wins, with Russo and Mason swimming on two winning relay teams.
Rosser won the 100 Yard Breaststroke in a school record time of 57.30, with Ludovico Corsini finishing in second place and Senicar finishing in fourth place. Rosser was also the runner-up in the 50 Freestyle and finished in fourth place in the 100 Yard Freestyle. Tucker and Russo finished in second and third place in the 100 Yard Backstroke and the 100 Yard Butterfly. Tucker recorded second place finishes in the 100 Yard Backstroke and 100 Yard Freestyle.
The women's 200 Medley Relay team of Rachel Louviaux, Erin Cregan, Maggie Mills and Lauren Davis finished in fifth place. Elle Grier recorded a fourth place finish in the mile, a sixth in the 500 Yard Freestyle and an eighth place finish in the 400 Yard IM. Emma Duffy finished in seventh place in the mile.
