Women's Swimming Finishes in Third at Sewanee Invitational
The Mars Hill women’s swimming team earned a third place finish at the Sewanee Invitational this weekend. The Lions had two individual wins on Saturday.
SEWANEE, TENN.- The Mars Hill women's swimming team earned a third place finish at the Sewanee Invitational this weekend. The Lions had two individual wins on Saturday and recorded a third place finish with 13 teams competiting in the meet.
Abby Harty won the 100 Yard Breaststroke in 1:08.97 and the 200 Yard Breaststroke in 2:30.11. Both of Harty's Breaststroke times are new school records. Harty finished in second place in the 400 Yard IM (4:46.87) and set her third school record of the day. Maggie Norton finished fourth in the 200 Yard Freestyle (2:07.23). Elle Grier recorded a fourth place finish in the 500 Yard Freestyle (5:39.10) and a fifth place result in the 200 Yard Butterfly (2:27.59). The 200 Yard Medley Relay team of Emma Duffy, Harty, Rachel Louviaux and Norton finished in fourth place with a time of 2:02.05.
The Lions host West Virginia State next Saturday at 2 p.m.
