Harty Named ASC Women's Swimmer of the Week
Freshman Abby Harty has been named the Appalachian Swimming Conference Women’s Swimmer of the Week for the third time this season
SOUTH EUCLID, OHIO- Freshman Abby Harty has been named the Appalachian Swimming Conference Women's Swimmer of the Week for the third time this season, league officials announced this morning.
Harty helped Mars Hill earn a third place finish out of 13 teams at the Sewanee Invitational last weekend. Harty won the 50 Yard Breaststroke (31.83), 100 Yard Breaststroke (1:08.97) and 200 Yard Breaststroke (2:30.11) and was the second place finisher in the 100 Individual Medley (57.35) and 400 Individual Medley (4:46.87).
Harty also swam in the 100 and 200 Medley Relays, helping Mars Hill earn a fourth place finish in each event. She currently ranks in the conference in the following events: 50 Freestyle (20th), 100 Freestyle (13th), 200 Freestyle (4th), 500 Freestyle (3rd), 100 Breaststroke (1st), 200 Breaststroke (2nd), 200 IM (1st), and the 400 IM (2nd).
Mars Hill hosts West Virginia Tech in a dual meet Saturday in Harrell Pool at 2 p.m.
