Women's Swimming Defeats West Virginia Tech
The Mars Hill women’s swimming team defeated West Virginia Tech 115-55 in a dual meet at Harrell Pool.
MARS HILL, N.C.- The Mars Hill women's swimming team defeated West Virginia Tech 115-55 in a dual meet at Harrell Pool on Saturday to improve their record to 2-2 on the 2014-15 season.
Maggie Mills won three events on Saturday. Mills swam to a win in the 50 Yard Freestyle in 25.90 seconds, the 100 Yard Freestyle in 56.73 seconds and was part of the victorious 200 Yard Freestyle Relay team that finished in 1:48.42.
Abby Harty also won three events as she set a new school record in the 100 Breaststroke in 1:08.83 and a new school record in 200 Individual Medley with a time of 2:13.42. Harty claimed the 100 Yard Butterfly in 1:04.20.
Elle Grier won the 1000 Yard Freestyle in 11:21.83 and the 500 Yard Freestyle in 5:33.34. Maggie Norton claimed the 100 Yard Backstroke in 1:07.54. Norton finished in second place in the 200 Yard Freestyle.
Emma Duffy finished in second place in the 1000 Yard Freestyle (11:46.96) and the 500 Yard Freestyle (5:45.99). Rachel Louviaux was the runner-up in the 100 Yard Backstroke with a time of 1:07.77.
Mars Hill returns to action at the Fall Frenzy meet on November 21.
