Women's Swimming Defeats Milligan and Warren Wilson
Mars Hill defeated Milligan and Warren Wilson in a double dual meet
MARS HILL, N.C.- The Mars Hill women's swimming team swept a double dual meet on Saturday, defeating Milligan 154-55 and Warren Wilson 167-29 in Harrell Pool.
Abby Harty won three events: the 500 freestyle (5:24.61), 50 breaststroke (32.93) and 100 breaststroke (1:11.94). JJ Washshah, Brin Sampson and Rachel Nichols each won two individual events. Washshah claimed the 50 freestyle (26.83) and 50 backstroke (29.98). Sampson won a pair of races at the 200 yard distance as she claimed the 200 Freestyle (2:18.32) and 299 IM (2:31.61).
Nichols touched first in the 50 butterfly (27.81) and 100 butterfly (59.91). Elle Grier won the 100 backstroke in 1:07.16 and finished second in the 500 freestyle. Marissa Hall was the runner-up in the 200 freestyle.
The 200 freestyle relay team of Washshah, Shelby Parrott, Grier and Nichols picked up first place with a time of 1:48.59. In the 200 medley relay, Grier, Harty, Nichols and Washshah won in 1:57.25.
During a break in the meet, Grier was honored as part of Senior Night festivities.
Mars Hill travels to the Igloo Invite on November 20th and 21st.
