Women's Swimming Sets New School Record at Igloo Invite
Mars Hill set a new school record in the 400 Medley Relay
SEWANEE, TENN.- The Mars Hill women's swimming team set a new school record in the 400 Medley Relay while winning five events at the Igloo Invite on Friday.
Elle Grier, Abby Harty, Rachel Nichols and JJ Washshah set a new school and pool record time of 4:03.34.
Harty won the 500 Freestyle in a pool record 5:07.15. She also claimed the 100 Breaststroke (1:08.05). Grier was the winner of the 200 Backstroke (2:12.75). Nichols was the winner of the 100 Freestyle in a meet record time of 54.66 seconds.
MHU finished in second place in the 200 Freestyle Relay (1:42.73) and second place in the 800 Freestyle Relay (8:27.44).
The Lions sit in third place out of five teams with 293 points. Sewanee leads with 456.5 points.
The meet continues tomorrow with preliminaries at 9 a.m. and finals at 4 p.m.
