Lions Earn Fifth Place Finish At ASC Championships
CHRISTIANSBURG, VA. – The Mars Hill women’s swim team wrapped up the Appalachian Swim Conference Championships with a solid fifth place finish on Saturday afternoon.
CHRISTIANSBURG, VA. – The Mars Hill women's swim team wrapped up the Appalachian Swim Conference Championships with a solid fifth place finish on Saturday afternoon. Brenau University captured the championship with 610.5 points.
Abby Harty had an absolutely incredible performance in the mile race (1650 yards), taking first place by more than 22 seconds all while breaking the school record with a time of 17:48.41. Kathryn Boland made it 3-for-3 in individual events over the course of the championships, taking first place in the 200 breast today with a time of 2:26.77.
Salliemae Blethroad finished 6th in the 200 back, while Lorna Doorman captured 7th in the event. The 400 free relay team of Boland, Harty, Rachel Nichols, and Natalia Quintero tallied a 5th place finish.
The Lions will return to the pool February 17-18 as they take their talents to the Queens Invite in Charlotte, N.C.
