Horton adds another record to her name in final day of Fall Frenzy
Another school record was rewritten on the final day of the Fall Frenzy Invitational on Sunday. Haley Horton and company capped off an impressive weekend for the Mars Hill women's swim team.
CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Another school record was rewritten on the final day of the Fall Frenzy Invitational on Sunday. Haley Horton and company capped off an impressive weekend for the Mars Hill women's swim team.
Horton, finishing ninth overall in the 100 yard freestyle, broke the school record by swimming a time of 53.80.
Ashley Hicks, competing in the 200 yard backstroke, swam a time of 2:13.19. The mark clocked in over a second faster than her prelim time.
Mars Hill placed ninth in the 400 yard yard freestyle relay with a team consisting of Abby Harty, Rachel Nichols, Savannah Maddox and Natalia Rodriguez.
The Lions placed fourth overall with 645.5 points. Queens, the defending Division II champion, along with Division I schools Gardner-Webb and UNC Asheville placed ahead of Mars Hill. Mars Hill finished fifth as a team with a combined score of 1498.5 points.

The Lions return to action on Friday, January 12 to take on King. The meet is scheduled to start at 6 p.m.
