Boland earns Academic All-Conference honors
Mars Hill’s Kathryn Boland earned Academic All-Conference honors from the Bluegrass Mountain Conference, as announced Friday morning by the league.
MARS HILL, N.C. – Mars Hill's Kathryn Boland earned Academic All-Conference honors from the Bluegrass Mountain Conference, as announced Friday morning by the league.
Boland, a junior, possesses as 3.5 GPA in Recreation and Sport Management.
Boland set a Mars Hill University school record in the 200 Yard Butterfly with a time of 2:11.48 in the Lions' 153-109 win over Lenoir-Rhyne on October 20. The Charlotte, North Carolina native earned BMC Swimmer of the Week honors just 10 days later.
On the second day of the Fall Frenzy in late November, Boland made the national cut in the 400 yard IM race with a time of 4:30.57. At the conference championships in February, Boland, along with Haley Horton, Rachel Nichols and Abby Harty set a Mars Hill record in the 400 yard medley relay with a time of 4:01.12.
