Lions remain undefeated after first meet of new year
The Mars Hill women's swim team improved to 11-0 on the season with wins over King and Emory and Henry College Friday evening on the road. The Lions took down King by a score of 114-84 and Emory and Henry by a result of 141-49.
BRISTOL, Tenn. - The Mars Hill women's swim team improved to 11-0 on the season with wins over King and Emory and Henry College Friday evening on the road. The Lions took down King by a score of 114-84 and Emory and Henry by a result of 141-49.
Lorna Doorman claimed two individual wins in the 500 and 1000 yard freestyle races. In the 500 yard, she turned in a time of 5:35.17, while in the 1000, she recorded a time of 11:22.81.
Doorman, joined by Jessica Minton, Brianna Broussard and Savannah Maddox, were victorious in their 400 yard freestyle relay race, recording a time of 3:59.70.
Other individual victories included Haley Horton, who earned the win in the 100 yard backstroke with a time of 1:02.22 and Sarah Shapiro, in the 100 breaststroke, set a time of 1:13.44.

Mars Hill returns to the pool on Saturday, January 26th when they take on Milligan and Warren Wilson in Milligan, Tennessee. The meet is scheduled for 10 a.m.
