Lions place seventh at Appalachian Open Indoor Track Meet
The Mars Hill women's track and field team placed seventh at the Appalachian Open Indoor Track Meet at the conclusion of the two-day event on Saturday afternoon.
BOONE, N.C. - The Mars Hill women's track and field team placed seventh at the Appalachian Open Indoor Track Meet at the conclusion of the two-day event on Saturday afternoon. The Lions accumulated 23 points.
Tiffany Holloway, after setting a personal best at the Montreat Indoor Kickoff on Thursday in the shot put, set another best in the event, recording a distance of 12.54 meters. She placed third in the event and earned six points for the Lions.
Picking up five points in the high jump, Kylee Peck placed fourth with a mark of 1.55 meters. Delaney Taylor earned a point with her 2.91 meter mark in the pole vault.
Arriel Smith placed eighth in the 55 and 300 meter dash to earn the Lions a point in each respective event while Sydney Britt, in the 800 meter run, earned five points with a fourth place finish.
