Peck named SAC Field Athlete of the Week
Mars Hill's Kylee Peck was named the South Atlantic Conference Field Athlete of the Week following her record setting performance.
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference announced its AstroTurf Women's Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week for events during March 25 through March 31. Carson-Newman garnered the track honors with Tia Davis, while Mars Hill earned the field award with Kylee Peck.
A sophomore sprinter, Davis won both the 100-meter and 200-meter events at the Montreat College Invitational, her second time this season sweeping the dashes. The time of the 100-meter for the Ooltewah, Tenn. native came in at 12.21 seconds and the 200-meter finish was in a time of 25.43 seconds. This is Davis's first Track Athlete of the Week honor this season.
A freshman high jumper, Peck set a school record in the event at the Montreat College Invitational, recording a mark of 1.67 meters to win. The Friendsville, Md. native currently tied for 17th nationally and earned a provisional qualifier for the NCAA Division II Championships. This is Peck's first Field Athlete of the Week honor this season.
