Lions place fourth at Catamount Classic
The Mars Hill women's track and field team placed fourth at the Catamount Classic at the conclusion of Saturday's events.
CULLOWHEE, N.C. - The Mars Hill women's track and field team placed fourth at the Catamount Classic at the conclusion of Saturday's events.
In the 400 meter dash, Arriel Smith picked up six points for the Lions with her third place finish. Smith turned in a time of 1:00.58. Lavaisiette Keller earned three points for Mars Hill, turning in a time of 18.96 for a sixth place finish in t he 100 meter hurdles.
The team of Keller, Smith, Shahnika Williams and Shaniqua Stevens placed fourth in the 4x100 meter relay to pick up four points, turning in a time of 50.00. Smith and Williams joined Kylee Peck and Sydney Britt in the 4x400, placing fourth with a time of 4:20.23 for five points.
Peck collected two points for Mars Hill in the high jump, placing seventh with a mark of 1.55 meters. Stevens placed seventh in the triple jump to earn two points, recording a distance of 11.11 meters. In the discus, Tiffany Holloway placed third overall to earn six points. She posted a distance of 40.83 meters.
