Athletic Training
Mars Hill University is a member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division II and a member of the South Atlantic Conference. Mars Hill University emphasizes the importance of wellness in each of its 23 intercollegiate athletic teams, seeing to it that each team has what it needs to compete successfully at the NCAA Division II level. In addition to our NCAA sponsored sports our department provides medical care for our national champion men’s and women’s cycling teams. The Athletic Training Staff and Faculty also supervise Undergraduate Athletic Training Students within the MHU Athletic Training Education Program. Together, the Athletic Trainers and Athletic Training Students are an integral aspect MHU Athletics.
- All seven members of our board certified and licensed athletic training staff serve the athletic training service program and the academic program.
- South Atlantic Conference Athletic Training Staff of the Year for 2015-16, 2013-14, 2010-2011, 2007-2008, 2003-2004, 2001-2002, 1999-2000, and 1997-1998.
- Recipients of 2020-21 David Riggins Service Award.
- Athletic Training majors have presented case study reports at the 2004, 2006, 2007, 2009, 2011, and 2012 annual Mid-Atlantic Athletic Trainers Association Meeting and Clinical Symposium.
