MARS HILL, N.C. – The Mars Hill men's soccer team dropped a 3-0 decision to Lenoir-Rhyne on Wednesday, October 05 at Meares Stadium. The Lions fall to 4-6 overall and 2-4 in the SAC, while L-R improves to 7-3-1 overall and 4-2 in the league.
Both teams had an equal amount of opportunities in the first 45 minutes of play. In just the eighth minute Stian Sanner received a perfect ball in front of the net, but his header was pushed away by the L-R keeper to preserve the tie.
The Bears' offense was on attack regularly and in the 39th minute Ismael Noumansana put the visitors ahead 1-0 with goal off of a bad ball from the Lions. That lead would be carried into halftime.
A pair of goals by Noumansana in the 56th and 65th minutes of the second half inflated the Bears lead to 3-0. Mars Hill could not muster any offense for the remainder of the game, eventually falling by that same score.
