Moorman's strike earns Lions thrilling OT win over Erskine
The Mars Hill men's soccer team (3-6-1) completed the comeback victory in overtime Wednesday night over Erskine (2-6-1) inside Meares Stadium.

MARS HILL, N.C. - The Mars Hill men's soccer team (3-6-1) completed the comeback victory in overtime Wednesday night over Erskine (2-6-1) inside Meares Stadium.
With less than four minutes remaining in the first overtime frame, Jayson Moorman received a Walker Henderson crossing pass and slipped the ball below Alex Pico to score his first of the season and secure the come-from-behind win.
Erskine scored the first goal of the contest in the 38th minute. Matt Perry converted on a penalty kick, shooting the ball to Eric Winkler's right to give the Flying Fleet the 1-0 advantage.
In the 71st minute, the Lions tied the game up off of Carlos Ayala-Viera's first of the season.
The Lions outshot Erskine 12-11 on the night as Winkler made three saves for his first collegiate win. Mars Hill returns to action on Saturday afternoon as they host Anderson in a return to South Atlantic Conference action. Kickoff is slated for 3:30 p.m.
