Lions place sixth at L-R Bears Invitational
The Mars Hill men's outdoor track & field team placed sixth at the L-R Bears Invitational at the conclusion of the meet Saturday afternoon.
HICKORY, N.C. - The Mars Hill men's outdoor track & field team placed sixth at the L-R Bears Invitational at the conclusion of the meet Saturday afternoon.
Day 2 Highlights:
Ky Mann placed third in the 110m Hurdles, running a new personal best time of 17.02s. Mann earned six points towards the overall team score. He also competed in day one of the men's decathlon. Ky jumped a new season best 6.32m in the long jump, threw a new personal best 10.6m in shot put, and jumped a new personal best 1.76m in high jump.
Ben Goodlett placed fifth in shot put, throwing a new personal best 13.6m. Goodlett earned four points towards the overall team score.
Lee Prescott threw a new season best 35.2m in hammer. Prescott placed fifth overall. Prescott also placed sixth in shot put with a throw of 12.65m, earning seven points overall towards the men's team score.
Levi Higgins placed second in high jump with a jump of 1.95m. Higgins earned eight points.
Ashtin Gainey threw 10.3m in shot put. Gainey placed 16th overall.
Isaiah Reid threw a new personal best 9.42m in shot put. Reid placed 19th overall.
Tyler Newlon placed 16th in the open 800m with a time of 2:18.84s.
Andrew Hensley placed 21st overall in the open 800m with a time of 2:30.07s.
The team finished the meet sixth overall with a score 34 points.
Next up, the Lions travel to Western Carolina University April 15th & 16th to compete in the Catamount Classic.
