Stanek Selected All-State
Casey Stanek has been selected to the 2017 North Carolina Collegiate Sports Information Association (NCCSIA) All-State Softball Team.
GREENSBORO, N.C. – Casey Stanek has been selected to the 2017 North Carolina Collegiate Sports Information Association (NCCSIA) All-State Softball Team. Stanek was a second team pick.
Stanek, a sophomore from Winston-Salem, N.C., led the Lions' offense the majority of the season batting a team-high .377 with 24 RBI, which also was tops on the squad. Her 52 hits and 14 doubles led the team and she was second on the club with a .580 slugging percentage and fourth with 19 runs scored. She finished the 2017 campaign third in the South Atlantic Conference in assists and sixth in doubles. Her best game of the year came against Southern Wesleyan on February 25, as she tallied two doubles and three runs batted in to lead the Lions to a 9-3 win.
Nominees were submitted by North Carolina sports information professionals and selected by the NCCSIA members.
Founded in 2002, the NCCSIA is comprised of sports information professionals from NCAA Division I, II, III, NAIA and independent institutions from the state of North Carolina. The purpose of the organization is to promote collegiate athletics at all schools. Membership is open to anyone affiliated with a college, university or conference located in North Carolina, and whose area of responsibility lies within sports information.
NCCSSIA selects all-state teams in the University (Division I) and College (Division II, III, NAIA) divisions for men's and women's basketball, men's and women's soccer, volleyball, softball, and baseball.
