Lions toppled by Bears on road

HICKORY, N.C. - The Mars Hill women's basketball team (1-23, 1-21 SAC) was defeated by Lenoir-Rhyne (9-14, 8-13 SAC) by a score of 75-47 Saturday afternoon on the road.
The Bears shot 52 percent from the floor with Brandi Hudson hitting 9-of-11 shots for 21 points on the day. Both Blaikley Crooks and Emily Harman added 12 points apiece. Crooks led the Bears with seven rebounds.
The Lions were led offensively by Emily Novick as she netted 13 points, including three three-pointers on the day. Hannah Barr added nine points while the trio of De'Ja Marshall, Maddie Gillie, and Porcelain Goldsborough each added six points apiece. Marshall led all players with 13 rebounds.
