Mars Hill defeated by SAC leading Catawba
The Mars Hill women’s soccer team (2-11-1, 0-8 SAC) was defeated 5-0 by Catawba (12-0-1, 7-0 SAC) inside Meares Stadium Saturday afternoon.

MARS HILL, N.C. – The Mars Hill women's soccer team (2-11-1, 0-8 SAC) was defeated 5-0 by Catawba (12-0-1, 7-0 SAC) inside Meares Stadium Saturday afternoon.
The Indians opened the scoring in the 16th minute as Kasey Hahn netted her first of the season off of a pass from Hannah Dunn. Just under 10 minutes later, Amery Harrison scored her first of the season as Helen Summerell picked up the assist.
Harrison scored her second of the game in the 50th minute and less than four minutes later, Katie Beck put Catawba up by four. Harrison recorded her hat-trick tally in the 66th minute.
Mars Hill attempted two shots on the game, both off the foot of Sanne Martinsen, including a breakaway attempt that was saved by Jamie Kazenmayer in the second half.
The Lions were outshot 27-2 as Summerell led all players with five attempts followed by Harrison's three.
Sierra Davis earned her 12th win of the season, making one save in 45 minutes of play. Camryn Miller made seven saves in the loss.
Mars Hill returns to the pitch on Saturday, October 23 when they face Anderson on the road. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
