JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. - The Mars Hill women's soccer team (3-4-1, 0-3-1 SAC) was defeated by Carson-Newman (6-2-2, 5-1 SAC) by a score of 4-1 Wednesday night on the road.
Felicia Frick opened the scoring in the 37th minute, netting her second of the season. The Eagles doubled their lead in the 58th minute as Savannah Fields scored her first of the year.
Marianne Ross cut into the Eagles' lead with her fourth goal of the season, her third in the last three games. Moments later, Carson-Newman scored two goals in four minute span.
The Eagles outshot Mars Hill 24-3 and was able to attempt 11 corner kicks on the night to the Lions' zero. Both Selina Jud and Carina Wüst led all players with four shots apiece. Carla Humera led the Lions with two shot attempts.
Laura Germes made two saves on the night while Camryn Miller made six for Mars Hill.
The Lions return to the pitch on Saturday, October 1 versus Catawba on the road. Kickoff is set for 5 p.m.
