The 2024 Season will be Fitschen’s third with the Lions, following his hire in August of 2021.

Prior to the 2023 season, Fitschen was promoted to full-time assistant coach and recruiting coordinator. The 2024 season will be his second in this role.

His main role for the 2024 season will be to coordinate the Mars Hill offense, while heading the Lion’s recruiting efforts. He will also assist in all other aspects of the baseball program.

Prior to Mars Hill, Fitschen played collegiately for Lander University from 2016-2021. He started 165 of his 180 career games played. Fitschen saw action as a catcher, first baseman, and designated hitter and was named team captain for the 2020 and 2021 seasons. He was also a member of the 2016 Southeast Regional Championship Team.

A native of Margate, Florida, Fitschen received his bachelor’s degree in Business with an emphasis in Marketing/Management from Lander in 2019, and added a Master’s of Science in Management in 2021.
