Bio

Joe took over the offensive line coaching position on July 15, 2017. He was one of the best offensive lineman to ever play at Mars Hill.

Joe was the starting center at Mars Hill for three years. In 2017, he was named team captain and MHU's leader on the offensive line. Hillin posted an average grade of 90 percent, including a 95 percent pass protection grade and an 85 percent run blocking grade. He allowed no sacks in 2017 to go along with 40 pancake blocks to average 4.44 per game. These numbers helped earn Hillin the Jacobs Blocking Trophy, given to the top offensive or defensive lineman in the league.

In 2017, Coach Hillin was named to the D2Football.com 2016 All-America Second Team. Hillin was also a First Team All-South Atlantic Conference selection, a 2016 Don Hansen All Super-Region Two Team and a D2CCA All Super-Region Two Team.

Coach Hillin graduated with a degree in Physical Education with a concentration in coaching from Mars Hill University in May of 2017.
