Men's Swimming Falls At St. Andrews

LAURINBURG, N.C. – The Mars Hill men's swim team was just edged out by St. Andrews University on Saturday, January 09. The Lions dropped the decision by a final of 128.50 to 123.50.
MHU was able to take top recognition in five total events on the afternoon. Matthew Walker collected first-place points in the 1000 Freestyle with a total time of 10:31.01 as well as the 500 Freestyle, touching the wall at 5:05.79.
Drew Rosser raced to a number one spot in the 50 Freestyle, stopping the clock at 21.25, barely edging teammate Vitor Goncalves, who had a time of 22.03. Goncalves would garner a win of his own in the 100 Freestyle, coming in at 49.55.
Brett Malmstrom was atop the field with a 2:06.79 in the 200 Butterfly.
The Lions will be back in the water on Saturday, January 23 as they take on West Virginia Tech and Milligan.
