Bio

Dexlie Inman was named assistant softball coach in the fall of 2023.

Inman will take on the role as the team’s infield coach and offense coach. Inman will also assist with recruiting and act as the camp coordinator, as well as executing other duties for the program. Inman spent the last two seasons as an assistant coach at Gardner-Webb University where she helped develop players’ skills all around the diamond, organized and executed daily practice plans, as well as conducted weekly one-on-one meetings with the student-athletes to monitor their academic workload and mental health. During her time at GW, Inman primarily served as the team’s infield coach as well as assisting with the team’s offense. During those two seasons, Inman helped coach a First Team All-Conference outfielder, All-Freshmen Team infielder, and Honorable Mention outfielder as well as three Big South Players of the Week.

Inman works as a camp instructor for Tier One Fast Pitch and College Coaches Skills Camp CCSC as well as serving as a private hitting and fielding instructor. In 2021, she served as the high school varsity assistant coach at her alma mater in Union, South Carolina. In 2016, Inman entered her college career after being named South Carolina Player of the Year and earning an All-American title. Inman was a four-year starter at the College of Charleston from 2016-2020 as a middle infielder. She served as captain on the team during her final two seasons (2019-20) and was named to the CAA All-Tournament team in 2019. During that year, she led the team in doubles, on-base percentage, slugging percentage, and tied for second in runs scored. That same year, Inman left her mark in the record book with her doubles total ranked fourth highest in school history and walks total ranked fifth highest in school history.

In 2017, she was named the “Charleston Way Spirit Award” winner, awarded to the athlete that upholds the cultural values of the team that included integrity, gratitude, competitive spirit, unity, and pride. She graduated in 2020 with a bachelor’s degree in exercise science with a minor in coaching.
