Bio

Kerri Gardin was named assistant women’s basketball coach in summer of 2019.

Gardin played her college ball at Virginia Tech from 2002-06.  Gardin led the Hokies to the NCAA Tournament all four seasons and during her senior campaign, averaged a double-double (12.6 ppg, 10 rpg). 

She continued her basketball career after being drafted 34th overall in the 2006 WBNA Draft by the Chicago Sky.  In 2008, she signed to the Connecticut Sun as a free agent in 2008 and spent two season with the team.  She signed with the Washington Mystics in 2011 for one season.  Gardin played professionally abroad for 10 years, including, but not limited to, stops in Portugal, Turkey, Croatia, Ukraine, Spain, and Thailand.

In 2015, Gardin was named to the Women’s ACC All-Legend Team and in 2016, was inducted into the Virginia Tech Hall of Fame.

Gardin began her coaching career in the 2014-15 season with the Virginia Tech Women’s Club Team.  In 2016, Gardin was at the helm of the Virginia Warriors 15U Girl’s Amateur Athletic Union.
