SALISBURY, N.C.-- Mars Hill's women's soccer team closed out the season with a 5-0 loss to Catawba Saturday evening at Frock Field.
Juliana Conte and Amy Iwanicki each notched a goal and assist for three-point nights to lead the Indians to the victory. Bethany Davis made four saves in 72 minutes of action to earn the victory in net. Maslyn Greene made three saves in 75 minutes for MHU. Mars Hill concludes the season 4-11-2 overall, 2-8-1 in conference matches. Catawba enters the SAC Tournament 10-7-1 overall and 6-4-1 in SAC play.
Iwanicki scored just 10:23 into the contest to get Catawba on the board. Mary Kirkman picked up the assist. Conte scored an unassisted goal just 26 seconds later to give the Indians a two-goal lead.
Conte and Iwanicki picked up assists on Alex Hulsey's goal in the 52nd-minute to make it 3-0. Allison Parker and Sophie Waller added goals for the final margin.
Mars Hill seniors Danielle Franco, Alyssa Morris and Leah Taylor played the final match of their MHU careers.
