Athletic Highlights: October 23rd – October 29th
Football: The Mars Hill football team defeated UVA Wise, 49-24, Saturday to advance to 7-1 on the year. JR Martin threw for two scores and ran for three. Landon Honeycutt posted a game-high 13 tackles while Dexter Fitzpatrick returned a fumble for a 57-yard score. The Lions were ranked No. 25 in the AFCA Top-25 polls and will play for the SAC Mountain Division title on Saturday, November 4 at Tusculum. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
Men's Soccer: Last Tuesday, Peter Plougmand was named SAC Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week. Mars Hill went 1-0, defeating Newberry 2-1 on Senior Day on Friday, October 27. Plougmand scored both goals in the win. The Lions close out the regular season on the road versus Limestone on Wednesday, November 1. Kickoff is set for 5 p.m.

Volleyball: Mars Hill went 2-1 this past week, falling to Anderson in three sets, but defeating Coker in four and UVA Wise in three. The Lions host Carson-Newman on Wednesday, November 1 at 6 p.m. inside Chambers Gymnasium. They then face Wingate on Friday, November 3 and Catawba on Saturday, November 4. First serve is set for 7 p.m. and 4 p.m., respectively, for the weekend set.
Men's Swimming: Andres Bodington was named the SAC Men's Swimmer of the Week last Wednesday. The Lions fell to Carson-Newman Friday evening, but swept King and Lees-McRae the next day. They next swim in the Bulldog Invite, kicking off on Friday, November 17.
Women's Swimming: Maria Jose Orozco was named the SAC Women's Swimmer of the Week last Wednesday. Mars Hill fell to both Carson-Newman and Lees-McRae this weekend, but defeated King. They next swim in the Bulldog Invite, kicking off on Friday, November 17.
Men's Cross Country: The Lions run at the NCAA DII Southeast Regional Cross Country Championships on Saturday, November 4.

Men's Golf: Mars Hill placed 11th overall at the Lenoir-Rhyne Fall Invitational.
Women's Golf: The Lions placed 5th overall at the Buzz Off Invitational, hosted by Emory & Henry.
Men's Basketball: Mars Hill fell to VCU by a score of 110-50 Saturday evening on the road in exhibition play.
