Lions downed by Young Harris

YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. - The Mars Hill men's basketball team (2-3) was defeated by Young Harris (5-0) by a score of 64-50 Tuesday night on the road.
The Mountain Lions held a nine-point advantage after the first 20 minutes of play. Josh Petteno led Young Harris with nine points followed by six apiece from Nate Dunlop and Eden Davis. Young Harris shot 46 percent from the floor comparted to the Lions' 36 and nearly shot 50 percent from beyond the arc, hitting 6-of-13 three-pointer attempts.
Mars Hill was led offensively by Prosper Obidiebube as he netted 10 points in the first half. Jackson Reid scored five followed by Rajuan Conner's four.
Young Harris continued to hit shots consistently in the second half, shooting 52 percent from the floor. Lenny Prada led Young Harris with 10 points followed by Karl Chavis' nine. Kory Davis led Mars Hill with 11 points in the second half. Defensively, Obidiebube and Isaiah Jones collected five rebounds apiece.
The Mountain Lions shot just under 49 percent on the night, hitting eight three-pointers. Mars Hill shot 36 percent and went just 2-of-15 from beyond the arc.
Dunlop and Davis led their teams with 14 points, respectively. Prada and Petteno ended the contest with 13 points apiece while Obidiebube matched their output. Conner finished the night with 11 points.
Mars Hill returns to action on Saturday, November 26 when they take on Lincoln Memorial. Tipoff is set for 4 p.m.
