Mars Hill opens SAC play on road versus LMU

HARROGATE, Tenn. - The Mars Hill men's basketball team (2-4, 0-1 SAC) opened South Atlantic Conference play Saturday afternoon, falling to Lincoln Memorial (7-1, 1-0 SAC) by a score of 80-56.
The Railsplitters shot just shy of 50 percent in the first half of play, outscoring the Lions 42-23. Quay Kennedy led all players with 10 points followed by eight from Jordan Walters. Mars Hill was led offensively by Prosper Obidiebube and Isaiah Jones, each netting six points.
In a more tightly contested second half, the Lions were led by Kory Davis' 10 points followed by Kendall Davis' six. A balanced scoring attack from LMU saw Jordan Quest net nine followed by eight from Me'Kell Burries as the two combined for 17 points off the bench.
Guest and Kennedy led the Railsplitters with 14 points apiece while Chase Rankin added 11 on the day. Walters led all players with 11 rebounds.
Kory Davis led the Lions with 14 while Obidiebube and Jones added eight apiece. Rajuan Conner led the Lions with 10 rebounds.
Mars Hill returns to action on Wednesday, November 30 when they take on East Tennessee State in exhibition play. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m.
