TAZEWELL, TENN. - The Mars Hill men's golf team sits in seventh place after the first two rounds of the State Farm Intercollegiate held at the par-72, 6,771-yard Woodlake Golf Club in Tazewell, Tenn.
Nick Caruso had a consistent day, finishing with a 74 in both rounds. Caruso is tied for 23rd. Chevy Hartzog carded a 74 in the opening round and a 75 in round two and currently sits in a tie for 33rd. Adam Lumley also had a duplicate score, firing a 75 and sits in 36th. Antonio Douat shot a pair of 76's and is in a tie for 40th, while Nick Quesnel finished with two 79's and sits in a tie for 58th.
Lincoln Memorial's Braden Galyon shot an eight-under-par 64 to open the tournament and finished with a two-under-par 70 in afternoon action to sit atop the leaderboard. Tusuclum's Brad Hawkins is two shots behind in second place. The host Railsplitters pace Carson-Newman by four shots with a combined score of 566.
Final round play is scheduled to begin tomorrow at 9 a.m.
