Men's Golf Finishes in 10th at Newberry Invitational
The Mars Hill men’s golf team finished in 10th place at the inaugural Newberry Invitational held at The Ocean Course.
KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. - The Mars Hill men's golf team finished in 10th place at the inaugural Newberry Invitational held at The Ocean Course.
Mars Hill finished with a three round total of 949, led by Chevy Hartzog who finished in a tie for 12th with a 14-over-par 230. Hartzog fired a one-over-par 73 in the third round. Adam Lumley each shot a 78 in the final round.
The Lions had a team score of 310 following the second round, which was suspended due to darkness on Monday and completed on Tuesday morning prior to the third round. Mars Hill moved up four positions on the leaderboard to 10th with a combined score of 640. Lumley led the Lions with a three-over-par 75.
Mount Olive's Sebastian Andersen was the individual winner with a two-over-par 218. Limestone was the team winner with a 913, two strokes ahead of Georgia Southwestern.
Mars Hill returns to action next weekend at the Echo Farm Intercollegiate.
