Poston named SAC Pitcher of the Week
Mars Hill freshman pitcher Alyssa Poston was named the South Atlantic Conference Varsity Gems Softball Pitcher of the Week, as announced by the league Tuesday morning.
ROCK HILL, S.C. - Mars Hill freshman pitcher Alyssa Poston was named the South Atlantic Conference Varsity Gems Softball Pitcher of the Week, as announced by the league Tuesday morning.
Poston, a native of Hartsville, S.C., threw two complete game wins and struck out nine batters this past week. She struck out five and allowed one run on five hits in the complete game victory over Belmont Abbey on Wednesday afternoon. She followed that performance by striking out four while allowing just four hits on Sunday versus Emory & Henry. Poston only gave up one run in 14 innings, equating to a very impressive .50 ERA.

The Lions take on Catawba on Wednesday, March 8 and Tusculum on Saturday, March 11. Both SAC doubleheaders will be hosted at Ponder Field.
