Mars Hill competes at JDL Fastrack
The Mars Hill women's indoor track & field team competed in a field mixed with NCAA DI, DII, DIII, and NAIA teams at the JDL Fastrack.
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The Mars Hill women's indoor track & field team competed in a field mixed with NCAA DI, DII, DIII, and NAIA teams at the JDL Fastrack.
Highlights from todays meet:
Jump Squad
Alina Mueller led the way for the women in long jump, advancing to the finals with a jump of 4.91m. Mueller placed 9th overall in the event. Mueller also competed in high jump, placing 16th overall with a jump of 1.42m
Makayla Rogers competed in both long jump and high jump. Rogers placed 12th overall in long jump with a jump of 4.86m. Rogers placed 10th in high jump with a jump 1.47m.
Maya Adams competed in her first meet of the season. Adams placed 25th in long jump with a jump of 4.1m.
Sprint/Hurdle Squad
Makayla Rogers, Alina Mueller, Miya Blake, and Honney Willis all competed in the 60m hurdles. Rogers and Mueller both finished in times of 10.17s. Blake finished in a time of 11.13s and Willis finished in a time of 11.61s.
Miya Blake, Honney Willis, and Simone Giggetts competed in the 60m sprint. Blake finished in a time of 8.77s, Giggetts a time of 8.83s, and Willis a time of 8.85s.
Elana Mackey competed in the open 400m, finishing in a time of 1:06.06.
Throws Squad
Bailey Beeman was the lone thrower for the Lady Lions, placing 24th in shot put with a season best 9.46m.
Distance Squad
Sarah McNeil competed in her first ever collegiate track meet. McNeil ran the 800m, placing 26th overall with a time of 2:58.52.
Brenna Hicks competed in the 800m run, placing 31st overall with a time of 3:11.20
Next up, the Lions travel to Salem, Virginia to compete in the Finn Pincus Invitational hosted by Roanoke College January 19th-20th.
