Men’s Basketball Loses at St. Andrews
LAURINBURG, N.C. - The Lions' men's basketball team lost on the road at St. Andrews, 114-98. Terrell Harris recorded his career high 33 points and 10 rebounds in the contest. He was 13-24 from the field and added nine offensive boards.
Sammy Emile followed Harris with 16 points and five rebounds. Cameron Shuford came off the bench to score 13 points while Austin Patton rounded out the double-digit scorers for the Lions with 12 points on the night. Patton pulled down seven rebounds.
Michael Dunkins and Antonio Moffitt led the Knights scoring 23 points apiece. Dunkins added a double-double with 10 rebounds. Aaron Christian supplied his teammates with a game high 16 assists.
Dunkins hit a 3-pointer with 18:25 left in the first frame to give the Knights a 6-3 lead and St. Andrews would never trail again. The Knights would extend their lead to as many as 24 points (64-40) with 33 seconds left in the half after Ryan Streater hit a shot from behind the arc. St. Andrews went in the locker room at the intermission up 64-44.
The Lions were unable to trim the deficit below double figures in the second half. MHC won the rebound battle, 48-39. Mars Hill connected on 42.9% (37-87) of their shots from the floor while the Knights converted 58.3% (42-72) of their attempts.
The Lions will host Limestone on Sunday. Tipoff is set for 5 p.m.
