Lions Fall to Anderson in SAC Semifinals
ROCK HILL, S.C.-- Mars Hill's men's soccer team fell to Anderson 1-0 in the Semifinals of the 2013 Food Lion South Atlantic Conference Championships, held Friday afternoon at Manchester Meadows.

ROCK HILL, S.C.-- Mars Hill's men's soccer team fell to Anderson 1-0 in the Semifinals of the 2013 Food Lion South Atlantic Conference Championships, held Friday afternoon at Manchester Meadows.
Martin Brain scored on a penalty kick early in the second half to provide all the offense the Trojans would need. Bo Haug made five saves to earn the shutout for AU. Chris Mitchell made two saves for MHU. Mars Hill concludes the season 7-10. Anderson advances to the SAC Championship Sunday afternoon at Manchester Meadows, where they will face Queens.
The Lions outshot the Trojans 13-10 and held a 4-3 advantage in corner kicks. Anderson was whistled for 15 fouls, while Mars Hill was tagged with 12.
Brain's penalty kick in the 61st-minute proved to be the game-winner. The goal was Brain's third of the season.
Mars Hill seniors Gregg Munn, Felipe Ferraro and Petr Buzyan played in the final match of their Lion careers. The group concludes their careers with a 48-24-5 overall record, two NCAA Tournament appearances and one SAC regular-season championship.
